OLDONYO SABUK; Kilimambogo National Park

Dominated by a small mountain covered in montane forest, the Ol Donyo Sabuk National Park is home to 45 species of birds including the white-browed sparrow weaver, grey-headed sparrow weaver, African pied wagtail, mourning dove, augur buzzard, African hawk-eagle and purple-breasted sunbird. Buffalo are the dominant animals in the ecosystem and other wildlife include bushbucks, leopards, olive baboons, aardvarks, porcupines, mongoose, pythons, and monitor lizard. The mountain’s summit also offers visitors scenic views of Mount Kenya.

Thika is close to “Fourteen Falls” which is a popular picnic site. Fourteen Falls waterfall at Thika is a spectacular 27 meters deep and a perfect day trip. There is a lot to see and do while in this scenic site, boating, fishing, photography, plant identification, and bird watching are among other activities. Thika is home to the Chania Falls and the Thika Falls, while Ol Donyo Sabuk National Park lies to its southeast. The Blue Posts Hotel is situated on the outskirts of Thika town, overlooking the waterfalls of the Chania and Thika rivers.

Assemble at Nakumatt lifestyle Settle in the bus then proceed to fourteen falls Thika. Those with own cars can drive straight to the venue.

Arrive fourteen falls and proceed to the gate of Olndonyo sambuk national park and start hiking Mt. Kilimambogo a 3 hrs hike (we will walk as we bond). For those who do not want to hike they will be left at a gazebo at the gate and they can chat and play games as they network with music in the background.

Hike down the hills and proceed to the beautiful fourteen falls where we will enjoy the scenic view of the falls as we have our picnic lunch at a private picnic site. TREE PLANTING TO SAVE THE FALLS WILL FOLLOW SOON AFTER LUNCH (Remember the singles will need the waterfalls for a romantic picnic date later in life after the hookup!
